The main types of medical lasers

Laser is a kind of coherent light source with high brightness, high orientation and high monochrome. With the emergence of various laser medical devices and continuous improvement in practice, laser has become an important branch in the field of medicine.

Because laser surgery has the characteristics of minimally invasive, and can achieve true no blood or little blood, so that laser treatment machine has become a very important surgical scalpel and auxiliary diagnosis and treatment equipment, is one of the necessary medical equipment in today's hospitals. The gas that rushes into these devices becomes the vital blood of the laser.

Main types of commonly used medical lasers

1. Helium-neon laser

He-ne laser is one of the earliest, longest and cheapest lasers in China. The chamber is filled with helium neon gas in a ratio of 9:1. Neon is the source of the laser, and helium is the auxiliary gas. He-ne laser can be used as a light needle instead of a millineedle in medicine, which can treat all indications of millineedle, and can also be used for irradiation therapy and relieving itching pains.

2. Carbon dioxide laser

Carbon dioxide laser is the laser with the highest conversion rate, the widest application and the largest continuous output power. Medical commonly used cavity type, sealed off type, single tube type, low pressure, dc longitudinal excitation, continuous operation of the laser. The sealed tube is filled with carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium, hydrogen and xenon gas, of which carbon dioxide is the working gas generated by laser radiation, and the rest is the auxiliary gas. Carbon dioxide laser focused with germanium mirror can be used as cutting, vaporization, solidification of the laser scalpel.

3. Argon ion laser

Argon ion laser is similar to the external cavity helium-neon laser, which is used for the treatment of ocular vascular lesions. At the same time, it is used as a laser scalpel with strong penetrating power to skin and light-colored tissues. The hemostatic effect is better than that of carbon dioxide laser, which has special effects on the treatment of hemangioma.

4. Nitrogen molecular laser

Nitrogen molecular laser is a pulsed molecular gas laser with a wavelength of 337.1nm. Nitrogen molecular laser is mainly used to explore the early diagnosis of tumor and drug treatment of vitiligo.

Medical lasers play a special role in suturing, drilling, cutting, hemostasis, sealing, vaporization and cell photothermal effects that other medical devices do not have. As the blood of laser, it is very important to ensure the quality of gas. The purity of the high purity gas and the mixture ratio of the gas will directly affect the treatment results.
