Properties of mixed gases

When welding, pure CO2 is used as protective gas, the arc stability is poor, the droplet shows axial transition, the splash is big, the weld forming is poor. When low alloy steel is welded with pure Ar, the cathode spot drift is large and the arc is unstable. A small amount of oxidizing gas, such as O2 and CO2, can be added into Ar to significantly improve arc stability, refine droplet, increase transition efficiency, and improve weld forming and anti-porosity ability.
