Helium extraction

There are up to 41 billion cubic meters of helium in the world. A large number of mineral deposits have been found in China, the United States, Russia and Algeria. The world produces about 175 million cubic meters of helium every year, of which Russia produces no more than 5 million cubic meters. The most abundant natural gas deposits are located in Siberia and the Far East, where production has not yet been established.

The extraction of helium from natural gas is carried out in two steps. Low temperature condensation can produce helium concentrate, of which 80% of the required substances already exist. Next, you need to remove impurities (depending on the elements) from the resulting concentrate: hydrogen, argon, neon, nitrogen, methane.
