Industrial hydrogen pipeline installation technology and matters needing attention
1. Hydrogen pipes should be made of seamless steel pipes. When there is a strict requirement for hydrogen purity, the material shall be made according to the current national standard.
2. Hydrogen pipes shall be connected by welding. Other connection methods are potential sources of leakage. However, the connection with equipment and valves can be connected with flanges or threads. Threaded connection with PTFE film as packing.
3. When installing hydrogen pipelines, the inner wall should be removed from rust to natural color. Pipe welding, carbon steel pipe should be used argon arc welding bottom, stainless steel pipe should be used argon arc welding. During installation, welding slag and rust should be prevented from remaining in the pipeline.
4. Valve of hydrogen pipeline should use ball valve, stop valve. When the working pressure is greater than 0.1MPa, the gate valve is strictly prohibited. When the electrolytic hydrogen contains alkali, the material of the valve can not be copper alloy, should meet the national standards.

6. When hydrogen pipelines pass through walls or floors, they should be laid in casings. There should be no weld in the casings. Pipe and casing shall be filled with asbestos or other non-combustible materials.
7. For the pipeline conveying wet hydrogen or for hydraulic test, in order to prevent water accumulation in the pipeline, the slope should be ≥3‰, and the drainage device should be set at the lowest part of the pipeline. In cold areas, anti-freezing measures should also be taken.
