Knowledge popularization of liquid nitrogen tank
Classification by use
Liquid nitrogen tank can be divided into two types according to the purpose.
Storage liquid nitrogen tank is mainly used for indoor liquid nitrogen storage, not suitable for long-distance transportation in working condition. The general diameter is relatively large.
In order to meet the conditions of transportation, the special shockproof design is made for the transport type liquid nitrogen tank. In addition to standing storage, it can also be used for transportation under the condition of filling liquid nitrogen, but it should also avoid violent collision and vibration. The general diameter is relatively small.

Classification according to liquid nitrogen status
According to the state of liquid nitrogen can be divided into liquid nitrogen tank and gas phase liquid nitrogen tank
Liquid liquid nitrogen tank biological samples are stored below the liquid nitrogen level and the samples are immersed in liquid nitrogen.
The biological samples of the liquid nitrogen tank are stored in the nitrogen atmosphere in the liquid nitrogen temperature region, and are not soaked directly.
When samples are stored in liquid nitrogen tanks, the samples are stored below the liquid level, so the temperature is -196°C. The temperature in the gas phase is slightly higher, about -190°C. Gas phase liquid nitrogen tank is an ideal storage method to prevent cross contamination of samples.
The active preservation of animal semen
Mainly used for cattle, sheep and other fine species of male animals and rare animal semen preservation, as well as long-distance transportation and storage.
Active preservation of biological samples
Vaccines, bacterial strains, cells and organs of human and animal in the field of biomedicine can be immersed in liquid nitrogen stored in liquid nitrogen tanks for long-term preservation of activity. When needed, take out thawing and retemperature can be used.
Cryogenic treatment of metallic materials
By using the liquid nitrogen stored in the liquid nitrogen tank to cryogenically treat metal materials, the metallogenic structure of metal materials can be changed, and the hardness, strength and wear resistance of metal materials can be significantly improved.
Cryogenic assembly of precision parts
The precision parts are assembled after cryogenic treatment with liquid nitrogen to improve the assembly quality of the parts, so as to improve the overall performance of the equipment or instrument.

Quality judgment of liquid nitrogen tank
During the use of the jar, the use of the jar should be checked every day. If there is liquid nitrogen in the jar, it is found that there is a large amount of frost on the lid or a large amount of water beads outside the jar, indicating that there is a problem with the jar, the sample should be transferred as soon as possible and the use of the jar should be stopped. (If it has just been filled with liquid nitrogen, let it stand for 24 hours before observation.)
When the lid plug and the tank body do not have the above abnormal phenomena, touch the tank shell with your hand. If you feel the upper temperature is cooler than the lower temperature, it indicates that there are some problems with the quality of the tank, that is, the daily evaporation loss of liquid nitrogen is greater. Careful observation should be made to prevent damage to stored samples after the depletion of liquid nitrogen. It's best to stop using it when necessary. If the upper and lower temperatures are the same, there is no problem with the quality of the pot.
When you open the cork, the mist doesn't spill out of the jar, but sinks, indicating that the jar is fine.
