1. There may be a certain amount of toxic decomposition products in SF6 gas, so safety measures should be taken in the process of using SF6 gas. The SF6 gas provided by the manufacturer shall have the name of the manufacturer, net weight of the gas, filling date, lot number and quality inspection sheet, otherwise it shall not be used.

2. The storage place of SF6 gas cylinders must be well ventilated, away from heat and oil, moisture-proof and sun-proof, and free from moisture and oil sticking to the valve. Check the sealing of gas cylinders frequently, and tighten the valve and bottle cap.

3. The safety cap and shockproof ring of SF6 gas cylinders should be complete, the safety cap should be screwed tightly, the gas cylinders should be erected on the shelf, marked outward, light loading and unloading during handling, no throwing and sliding is allowed.

4. SF6 gas cylinders that have not been inspected and qualified shall be stored separately without confusion.

5. For SF6 gas stored in a new bottle for more than half a year, sampling inspection should be conducted again before use and it shall be used only after meeting the standards.

6. When drawing SF6 gas from the cylinder, the pressure relief valve must be used and the operation should be carried out in a well-ventilated condition. The used SF6 gas cylinder should close the valve tightly and put on the cap to prevent the leakage of the remaining gas.

7. The operation, maintenance and gas test staff exposed to SF6 gas shall first receive safety protection education and relevant training before formal work.
